HANUMANA MEETS MOTHER SITA

After Ravana’s departure from the garden, Sita sobbed bitterly. A little while later, a demoness named Trijata spoke up. She had a noble heart and had some spiritual inclinations. She told her companions, “I had a nightmare last night. Our kingdom was in flames. A monkey set our kingdom aflame and killed countless demons. Ravana went up to Death’s place riding naked on a donkey’s back. Sita was taken away by Rama.”
When the demoaesses left Sita alone and unattended, Hanumana begin singing the verses of Lord Rama. Sita heard the soft verse and began shedding tears. She wondered who in Ravana’s Lanka could be narrating her lord’s story. She said, “Whosoever is taking my lord’s Rama name, why don’t you reveal yourself to me?”
Hanumana came down from the tree. He bowed down before Sita with folded hands and said, “Mother Sita, I am Lord Rama’s messenger. Here is a ring sent for you so that you may know I am his messenger. Don’t worry. He will soon attack Lanka and kill Ravana. Then he will rescue you from here.”
Then Hanumana thought to examine the power of the enemy before returning back. He went to a garden named Ashoka vatika and started jumping on the trees. He plucked the fruits from the tree and threw them on the ground. The guards and demons grew alert and tired to catch Hanumana but he was too swift for them. When they attacked him, he answered back with his heavy mace. Soon he killed many demons who served as guards in Ashoka vatika.

Ravana heard the news that a mere monkey had destroyed his beautiful Ashoka Vatika. Ravana sent his son, Akshaya to deal with Hanumana. Akshaya led his huge demonic army to attack Hanumana. But Humana had seen them approaching from afar. He uprooted a heavy tree and threw it with a great force at Akshaya. Akshaya and many of his demon warriors were crushed under the tree’s weight. The demons fled the spot to tell Ravana about Hanumana’s strength.
