Rama was overwhelmed with gratitude towards Hanumana. Rama addressed Sugreeva, “What a feat Hanumana has achieved? He has consoled Sita by giving her hope and has saved me by telling me that she is alive. But now we all must make out a plan to cross the ocean. We must reach Lanka before any harm befalls Sita.” Sygreeva said,” I have already decided that Hanumana will surely fly across the ocean carrying you and Lakshmana on his shoulders. My army and I will follow you. We would surely make out a way to cross the ocean. Now let us all march to the sea-shore.”
So a huge army of monkey and bears swiftly jumped over trees and hills to reach the sea-shore. Hanumana carried Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulder to make a hasty approach. They reached the sea-shores and set up a camp in a nearby forest.
After a restful night, Hanumana, sugreeva, Angad, Lakshmana, Jambavan and Rama discussed how they would go across the ocean. Rama said to Sugreeva, “Friend, we have a large army and the ocean is way too deep to swim across. Its width is too much to jump across. How will we ever reach Lanka?”
Suggestions and advice poured in from all sides, but none seemed logical. The whole group was rather optimistic. They had found Sita and would do anything to rescue her. They had achieved one goal and would go a step further then.
