The city of Ayodhya was glowing with earthen lamps. The queens were also ready at the palace to receive theirs sons and daughters-in-law. When King Dashratha reached the outskirts of Ayodhya with the newlyweds, Sage Vashishtha advised him to offer obeisance to Lord Shiva, Godess Parvati and Lord Ganesha before entering the city. King Dashratha did as he was told. Soon the royal wedding procession entered Ayodhya. The people showered flowers and blessing on princes and their wives.
